The short version. LORE is a field guide. Its identifications are informed suggestions based on appearance, not determinations, and its symbolic content records folklore rather than fact. LORE+ is optional; the guide and your collection are free and stay free.
What LORE is
LORE is an educational reference app for stones, crystals and minerals, provided by ELU LABS, LLC. By using it you agree to these terms.
Identification is a suggestion
Do not rely on LORE for valuation, purchase, authentication, or safety decisions. Identification is based on visual appearance alone. Many minerals look alike, and dyed, heated, coated or synthetic material can closely resemble the genuine article. LORE shows a confidence figure, the traits behind a match, and possible alternatives precisely because it can be wrong.
For anything that matters — a purchase, an insurance valuation, a stone you intend to handle or work with — consult a qualified gemmologist or a local geological society.
Safety
Some minerals are hazardous to handle, ingest, inhale as dust, or place in water. LORE does not provide safety guidance and must not be used to decide whether a material is safe. Never put a stone in your mouth, in drinking water, or in contact with food on the basis of anything in this app.
Symbolism is folklore, not fact
LORE records historical, cultural and traditional associations for educational and entertainment purposes. Metaphysical properties are not scientifically established. Nothing in LORE is medical, psychological, or health advice, and it must not be used in place of professional care.
LORE+ subscriptions
LORE+ Yearly is an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone, or from Profile inside LORE. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period runs to its end.
LORE+ Lifetime is a single non-consumable purchase and does not renew.
Everything already in your collection remains available whether or not you subscribe. Unused portions of a free period, if one is offered, are forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
Restoring purchases
Purchases are tied to your Apple Account. Use Restore Purchases in the app to recover them on another device or after reinstalling.
Content and intellectual property
The text, imagery, design and software in LORE belong to ELU LABS, LLC. Specimen images are AI-generated reference illustrations created from each stone’s recorded characteristics; they are not photographs of specific specimens. You may share individual entries; you may not redistribute the database or bundle it into another product.
No warranty
LORE is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ELU LABS, LLC disclaims all warranties and is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the app’s content, including identifications, valuations inferred from them, or decisions made about handling a material.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
